AMRAP Defined & Benefits of this Effective Style of Training

The acronym AMRAP which you’ll find quite often in our Fitzone30 program stands for ‘as many reps as possible’. With similar fat burning effects that you’d get from a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) that focuses on pushing yourself as much as possible during a specified time frame.

The benefits of an effective AMRAP workout is that it focuses on intensity, working as hard as you can in short time frames while taking minimal to no rests between each exercise.

“AMRAPs are associated with improved stamina and aerobic conditioning more so than strength,” according to 2008 CrossFit Games champ Jason Khalipa, founder of NCFit and author of As Many Reps As Possible. 

AMRAPs Can Be Done Anywhere With Minimal Equipment! 

While you can structure an AMRAP workout with any type of exercise. Bodyweight movements, dumbbells, kettlebells is really all you need for an AMRAP workout. With our Fitzone30 workouts all you need is a pair of dumbbells and 30-minutes is all it takes!

Suitable for All Fitness Levels

During an AMRAP workout you are only competing against yourself while pushing your pace during this timed workout.  Typically our AMRAPs are broken down into 20-minute increments while pushing yourself to get as many reps and rounds in as possible the intensity is what sets the efficient and effective workout tone.

AMRAPs Help Ignite Fat Burn

“Attempting to get as many reps as possible is very intense, and this intensity increases excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC), which in returns burns more calories and fat.” 

Similar to the benefits of HIIT, High Intensity Interval Training, AMRAP style workouts have the same effects. Allowing you to burn more calories during and well after your workout is finished.
